Residents from different parts of Ikorodu Federal Constituency have continued to laud the representation of their federal representative, Rep. Babajimi Benson, especially regarding his direct impacts on them.
They resumed their commendations at the October edition of the ‘Apo – Anu’ Foodbank of the lawmaker, which caters for 500 households every month.
Beneficiaries, which came from Ikorodu LG, Ikorodu West, Ikorodu North, Igbogbo/Bayeku, Ijede and Imota Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), spoke with THE IMPACT reporters that covered the food bags distribution at the Rep. Babajimi Benson Federal Constituency Office in Ikorodu.
The food bags contained rice, beans, palm oil, sphagetti, noodles among other items.
Mrs Toyin Balogun, a beneficiary from Gberigbe in Ikorodu, while appreciating the lawmaker for his monthly food support, charged the Lagos State Government on the need to do more in providing palliatives for the people.
“I feel honored and I really appreciate Mr Jimi Benson. More grace to his elbow and more wins and grace to everything that he is doing.
“I wish Lagos State Government to do more of this by distributing more palliatives that would go round the populace, and help alleviate the hardship that common people are facing”, she said
Another beneficiary, Mrs Fasilat Odunade, from Parafa Alagbemo, also in Ikorodu, equally commended the Ikorodu Federal representative for sustaining the food bank initiative, and charged him to continue to impact on the people.
Mrs Dyna from Anibaba, also speaking with THE IMPACT, said that Rep. Benson has been a major factor in cushioning the effects of hunger with his monthly food care program.
She added that the country needs more representatives like Rep. Benson that cares for his people and community, to make it great.
The woman, who said that she was coming to the lawmaker’s constituency office where received the food package for the first time, commended him for what he has been doing for Ikorodu people and prayed to God to elevate him.
Engr Patrick Rasak from Ikorodu North LCDA, in his own comment, said:
“Jimi Benson has been our person and has been performing well. I have never seen who has performed or performing like this. So, we are praying that by the special grace of God, he should attain the highest position in his political career”.
Mrs Ogo Chinere from Offin in Igbogb/Bayeku LCDA, also speaking, said:
“In fact, this event is a great one. God has been using this man, Jimi Benson, to alleviate the problems of the masses. My prayer is that God will continue to keep him healthy and prosper him the more.
“He is using the blessings that he is getting from the Almighty God, for the people by providing relief to so many. He has impacted on many individuals and families to relief them of the situation in the country”.
Obadara Adedoyin, another beneficiary, described the lawmaker’s gesture as marvelous.
“What I can say about today’s event is that it is a marvelous event. The program is a good one.
“Babajimi Benson is a well – known man. Everybody knows him and we all love him so much, not only because of what he is doing now, but all other things that he has been doing”, he said.
Also speaking, Mrs Anne from Igbogbo, said:
“ I feel glad and excited to be here to receive the gifts given to us by Jimi Benson. What I can say about Babajimi Benson is that he has been doing great things for us and may he continue to go far”, she said.
Ahile Elumo Timothy, a youth leader from Ikorodu North LCDA, also speaking, said that the three – term lawmaker is exceptional, adding that the food bags presented to constituents would go a long way in alleviating their hunger.
“Babajimi Benson has been doing well. I have been seeing a lot of great things that he has been doing. I have never seen any man that works like Jimi Benson. The man has been doing well. When I travelled to my State, I called some people that are representing my constituency, show them his poster and told them about how he has been representing his constituency.
“If you want to be a leader, you must at least deliver what people sent you. So, I am very appreciative of what the man has been doing for us.
“The packages that Jimi Benson gave to people go a long way, because my boss that has been given a slot has always shares the slot with people and if it is not enough, there is no how that he can be sharing what are inside. So, people are really benefitting from the slot that they have been given”, he said.
